Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş became the center of attention with a social media post he made on April 6. Claims that Demirtaş was inspired by or directly quoted his commentary from another source became a topic of debate on digital platforms.
In his post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the economist addressed the US economic pressure on China and used the following words:
"We will see China now. Bring it on! They have 3 paths:
Bow down to the US and Trump, do what they say.
Devalue the Yuan by 30% or more, impoverish your people.
Print your own currency equivalent to exactly 3 Trillion Dollars and make your Debt GO CRAZY...
Come on CHINA: Choose, Like, Take..."
It emerged that two days before this statement by Demirtaş, on April 4, the Zerohedge account, known for its analyses in the field of economics, had made a post with similar content.
