Arçelik to close facility: More than 400 workers to be laid off
Arçelik has decided to close its refrigerator production facility in the Rayong region of Thailand, a move that will lead to the layoff of 411 employees.
Arçelik has announced that it will cease production at its Rayong facility in Thailand in line with its global efficiency and restructuring strategies. The company stated that this decision will not have a negative impact on its total production and sales volume. With the closure of the facility, the employment contracts of 411 workers will be terminated.
3 MILLION DOLLARS ALLOCATED FOR PERSONNEL SEVERANCE
It was announced that the cost of severance and notice pay to be paid to the laid-off employees will be approximately 3 million dollars. Arçelik stated that this step is part of a global restructuring process aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was noted that Arçelik has decided to stop production at its refrigerator plant in Rayong, Thailand, as part of its global efficiency and optimization efforts. The company reported that the capacity of this facility will be shifted to other operations and that the new arrangements will be implemented gradually until 2026.
