Asian stock markets show mixed performance
Asian stock markets followed a mixed course on the second trading day of the week.
Analysts stated that the search for direction has come to the fore in global equity markets due to the Christmas holiday, noting that liquidity in Asian equity markets is at quite low levels.
Noting that trading volume is expected to remain at low levels throughout the week due to the Christmas holiday, analysts reported that possible fluctuations in prices could occur within wider ranges due to thin market conditions.
Today, the Kospi index in South Korea rose by 0.1 percent to 2,602 points, while the Shanghai composite index in China lost 0.6 percent to 2,900 points.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index completed the day with a 0.16 percent gain at 33,305 points, while the dollar/yen parity is trading at the 142.2 level with a 0.1 percent decrease.
In India, the Sensex is trading at 71,370 points with a 0.4 percent rise.
