Assessment of Gaye Erkan from Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş: I support her and the entire monetary policy committee

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan attended the ISO Professional Committees Joint Meeting.

Speaking there, Erkan said, "The prerequisite for fighting inflation is determination. The ultimate output of ensuring financial stability is sustainable growth with low volatility."

Some of the highlights from Erkan's speech were as follows:

We are observing through reports, expectations, interest, and inflows that international investors are also beginning to believe that the time has come to transition to the Turkish lira. We see that with the increase in demand for our country's assets, actual inflows have also begun to increase.

* We anticipate that these inflows will strengthen macro-financial stability and occur over time. In the coming period, we will continue to support the development of foreign demand for Turkish lira assets with an approach that establishes the best conditions for our country by making the increase in our reserves permanent.

Following Hafize Gaye Erkan's speech, economist Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş shared a message on his X account. Stating that he finds Erkan's remarks positive, Demirtaş used the following expressions:

* I support her and the entire monetary policy committee. I hope that politicians will also show the same determination.
