Attention those with SGK debt: A new era begins in October!

It has been stated that a stricter period will begin in October regarding the monitoring and collection processes for Social Security Institution (SGK) premium debts. The phrase "The monitoring and collection processes for premium debts will be activated" included in the new Medium-Term Program (OVP) is considered critical, especially for indebted employers, tradespeople, and SMEs.

SGK expert İsa Karakaş stated that the regulation in question points to more intensive audit and collection practices during the last three months of the year: October, November, and December. According to Karakaş, sanctions will be implemented for employers who did not take advantage of the previously offered 72-month installment and discounted restructuring opportunity or who did not pay their premium debts.

Regarding the process for employers who do not pay their debts, Karakaş assessed, "All SGK premium incentives and support provided by the state will be cut off immediately. Enforcement and seizure proceedings will be initiated without delay."

It is stated that the step within the scope of the OVP aims to accelerate the collection of premium receivables and to monitor public receivables on registered employment more effectively. For this reason, it is important for employers with premium debts to check their debt status to avoid potential loss of incentives and legal follow-up processes.
