Bad news for retirees before the holiday: No raise for the bonus

While expectations regarding retiree holiday bonuses continue, a statement on the matter has come from the AKP. The 19-article legislative proposal submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament did not include any regulation regarding retiree bonuses.

AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler announced that no increase in bonuses is planned, citing economic conditions and regional developments.

NO RAISE FOR RETIREE HOLIDAY BONUS

Expectations for the retiree holiday bonus, which was expected to be increased to 5 thousand liras this year, have fallen short. Evaluating the issue, Abdullah Güler stated that it is not possible to increase the bonuses at this stage, saying, "There is no regulation regarding the holiday bonus for retirees in the proposal. We do not have any work on this. We need to create special resources for an increase in the holiday bonus. There is a state of war in our region, there are problems due to the supply chain, and we need to pay attention to budget discipline."

EMPHASIS ON RESOURCES AND BUDGET

In Güler's statements, budget discipline and global risks stood out in particular. It was pointed out that it is difficult to create resources for a new increase in social spending due to the war environment in the region, disruptions in the supply chain, and the necessity of maintaining economic balances.

TAX REGULATIONS INCLUDED IN THE PROPOSAL

The legislative proposal submitted to Parliament also includes new tax regulations for precious stones and crypto asset transactions. It is envisaged that a 20 percent Special Consumption Tax will be imposed on products such as diamonds and pearls, and a tax of 3 per 10 thousand will be collected from crypto asset sales and transfers.

AUTHORITY FOR THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE FUND

The proposal also included an article regarding the Unemployment Insurance Fund. Accordingly, it is planned to grant the President the authority to increase or decrease the 1 percent state contribution rate in the fund by up to half.
