Banking sector deposits exceed 30 trillion TL
According to BRSA data, the banking sector's total deposits rose to 30 trillion 52 billion TL in the week of July 10.
Data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for the week ending July 10 showed that total deposits in the sector have once again exceeded 30 trillion TL. Accordingly, the banking sector's total deposits reached 30 trillion 52 billion TL, up from 29 trillion 870 billion TL the previous week.
During the same period, the sector's total loan volume also recorded an increase. Loans rose from 26 trillion 750 billion TL to 26 trillion 817.3 billion TL. Non-cash loans and liabilities used by companies for trade finance increased from 10 trillion 720 billion TL to 10 trillion 807.1 billion TL.
LATEST STATUS IN LOAN ITEMS
Looking at loan types, commercial and other loans rose from 20 trillion 70 billion TL to 20 trillion 144.7 billion TL. Installment commercial loans also increased from 4 trillion 120 billion TL to 4 trillion 128.2 billion TL.
While consumer loans reached 3 trillion 395.7 billion TL from 3 trillion 390 billion TL, the volume of individual credit cards declined from 3 trillion 290 billion TL to 3 trillion 276.8 billion TL. Corporate credit cards fell from 1 trillion 40 billion TL to 1 trillion 23.3 billion TL.
The sector's non-performing loans rose from 776.29 billion TL to 785.70 billion TL during the week in question. The banking sector's legal equity declined from 5 trillion 760 billion TL to 5 trillion 757.5 billion TL.
The total balance of securities increased from 7 trillion 700 billion TL to 7 trillion 808.9 billion TL. The total amount of securities held by banks also rose from 4 trillion 200 billion TL to 4 trillion 345.6 billion TL.
Within this item, securities held on behalf of domestic residents reached 3 trillion 562.6 billion TL, while securities held on behalf of foreign residents reached 783.10 billion TL.
The sector's net foreign currency general position rose from 54.06 billion TL to 65.61 billion TL. The balance of FX-protected TL deposit and participation accounts declined from 236 million TL in the previous week to 205 million TL.
