BOTAŞ announces: Natural gas price hike
The Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) has announced the natural gas sales tariff for October. While there was no change in the wholesale price of natural gas used in residential homes as of October 1, a 20 percent price hike was applied to natural gas used by industry and SMEs.
BOTAŞ has published the tariff table for residential and industrial subscribers, as well as the tariff for electricity generation, which will be effective in October on its website.
Accordingly, the sales price that BOTAŞ will apply to distribution companies for residential consumers in October has been announced as 4 thousand 80 Turkish Lira per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
PRICES INCREASED BY 20 PERCENT
The tariff for industrial subscribers was set at 8 thousand 549 Turkish Lira per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas for tier 1, and 11 thousand 374 Turkish Lira for tier 2. In the tariff for electricity generation, the price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas was announced as 12 thousand Turkish Lira.
While there was no change in the wholesale price of natural gas used in residential homes, the sales price of gas used by large industrial facilities and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as the natural gas tariff for electricity generation, was increased by 20 percent.
Natural gas price tariffs are calculated on a monthly basis.

In the announcement on the institution's website, the statement was made: “There has been no change in the wholesale price of natural gas used in residential homes. Based on the Household Energy Price Index (HEPI) prices, our country still applies the lowest natural gas price for residential homes among European countries after Ukraine.”
ELECTRICITY PRICES HAD ALSO INCREASED
It was announced that while the electricity tariff effective from October 1 remained fixed for residential subscribers, it increased by approximately 20 percent for commercial and industrial subscribers.
