BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA AT THE ADVERTISING BOARD
According to the information announced by the Ministry, platforms selling "Mystery Boxes" were discussed at the Advertising Board meeting held on August 14, 2025. The Ministry underlined that the sales in question are unfair commercial practices. The statement included the following expressions:
“In this direction; it has been evaluated that mystery box and similar sales methods are unfair commercial practices, and it has been decided to implement an access block regarding the promotions in question and to apply to the relevant institutions to initiate judicial investigation processes against the parties responsible for the sites conducting illegal activities.”
WARNING FOR YOUNG CONSUMERS
The Ministry also stated that inspections have been tightened to ensure that young people, in particular, are not harmed by such practices. The statement included the following: "As the Ministry of Trade, we continue our inspections without interruption in order to protect consumer rights, to effectively combat deceptive and misleading advertising activities, and especially to protect young consumers from the negative effects of such sites.
