CBRT Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan: We are targeting production growth in areas where the impact on price stability will be felt
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan stated that efforts to increase the rediscount limit are continuing.
A new statement has come from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) regarding rediscount limits, one of the issues recently highlighted by the real sector.
CBRT Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan said, "We will further increase the rediscount limit, which we raised 10-fold to 3 billion liras in July; our work is ongoing."
Erkan also made assessments regarding investment-committed advance loans. Erkan stated, "With investment-committed advance loans, we are targeting production growth in areas that will contribute to the current account balance and whose effects will be felt in exchange rates and price stability."
The related topic had also been brought up during Erkan's meeting with the management of the Banks Association of Turkey.
