CBRT takes action on reserve requirements: Growth limit for SME loans increased to 5 percent
The Central Bank has increased the growth limit for SME loans from 4.5 percent to 5 percent as part of a change to its macroprudential framework.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has made a regulation regarding reserve requirements in order to support macro-financial stability and the liquidity management of banks.
According to the CBRT's "Press Release on the Macroprudential Framework," the monthly growth limit applied to SME loans has been increased from 4.5 percent to 5 percent.
The announcement also stated that the blocked reserve ratios for Turkish lira reserve requirements have been reduced.
The Central Bank emphasized that the decisions taken are intended to support the stability of the financial system and the liquidity management of banks.
