CBRT to announce August interest rate decision tomorrow: What are the expectations?
The Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee will announce its interest rate decision tomorrow. Economists generally expect interest rates to be held steady at 50 percent.
All eyes in Turkey are turned to the monetary policy decisions that the Central Bank (CBRT) will announce tomorrow. The CBRT Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will announce its August interest rate decision tomorrow at 14:00.
All 13 economists who participated in the AA Finance expectation survey expect the CBRT to keep the policy rate steady at 50 percent.
The policy rate was also held steady at 50 percent at the MPC meeting held last month.
The average year-end policy rate expectation of the economists participating in the survey was calculated at 46.50 percent. Of the economists, 2 predict that the policy rate will be 50 percent at the end of the year, 1 predicts 49 percent, 3 predict 47.5 percent, 5 predict 45 percent, and 1 predicts 40 percent.
