Central Bank announces: Increase in inflation expectations

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) has shared its sectoral inflation expectations for October with the public. According to the released data, the 12-month annual inflation expectation for market participants increased by 1.01 points compared to the previous month, reaching 23.26 percent. Household expectations rose by 1.40 points to 54.39 percent. In contrast, the real sector's expectation was recorded at 36.30 percent, a decrease of 0.50 points.

This data is collected through the market participants survey, the economic outlook survey, and the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). Furthermore, it is obtained by compiling the 12-month annual consumer inflation expectations of financial and real sector experts, manufacturing industry firms, and households.

The Central Bank began publishing sectoral inflation data for the first time in June 2024.
