Central Bank to announce interest rate decision today: Will the policy rate be cut?
The Central Bank will announce its August interest rate decision today, which markets are eagerly awaiting. Economists participating in the AA survey predict that the policy rate will be kept constant at 50 percent.
All eyes in the markets are on the interest rate decision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT).
The CBRT Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet under the chairmanship of Fatih Karahan.
The committee will announce its August interest rate decision at 14:00 following the critical meeting.
In the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was kept constant at 50 percent.
EXPECTATIONS OF ECONOMISTS
The AA Finance expectation survey for the MPC meeting was concluded with the participation of 13 economists.
According to the survey results, all of the economists predict that the policy rate will be kept constant at 50 percent.
The average of the economists' year-end policy rate expectations was calculated as 46.50 percent.
WHAT WILL THE INTEREST RATE BE AT THE END OF THE YEAR?
Among the economists who shared their year-end expectations, 2 predicted that the policy rate would be 50 percent at the end of the year, 1 predicted 49 percent, 3 predicted 47.5 percent, 5 predicted 45 percent, and 1 predicted 40 percent.
