While the Central Bank's interest rate decision to be made this week is eagerly awaited, experts are expressing different views.

Prof. Dr. Serap Durusoy, in her comments to 12punto, stated that she expects interest rates to be kept constant, but that this alone is not sufficient. Emphasizing the importance of public savings and fiscal discipline, Durusoy argued that this should not be achieved at the expense of consumers and wage earners.

While Durusoy's statements brought the importance of public savings to the agenda once again, she also touched upon the statement made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan today that "public savings are the primary priority."
