Çerkezoğlu sets the date: DİSK prepares for minimum wage protests

Arzu Çerkezoğlu, who visited our newspaper along with DİSK General Secretary Tayfun Görgün and Board Member Şükret Sevgener, shared the activities they will carry out in the coming period. Çerkezoğlu stated that they will expand their protests with the demand for a minimum wage suitable for a dignified life.

Çerkezoğlu expressed that they will launch an organizing mobilization against injustices in working life and that they specifically aim to communicate with young people. She announced that they plan to meet with young people in various forums as universities open, and to use social media and digital platforms more effectively.

One of DİSK's priority goals is the organizing of female laborers. In this context, DİSK Women's Regional Representative Boards will invite women to the squares with demands such as equal pay for equal work, the ratification of the ILO Violence and Harassment Convention, and the implementation of the Istanbul Convention. Additionally, training programs will be organized for female members.

Within the framework of the "Justice in Income, Justice in Tax, Justice in the Country" campaign, DİSK will convey the message to citizens: "Do not be condemned to a minimum existence, be unionized, be with DİSK." Drawing attention to the importance of acting together with all institutions that defend democracy, Çerkezoğlu stated that they will prioritize such collaborations.
