Chicken burger prices reach record levels in the last 9 years
The chicken burger menu of a famous restaurant chain is drawing attention due to the price increases seen in recent years. The decline in the number of menus that can be purchased with the minimum wage is at an alarming level.
The King Chicken burger menu from the world-famous fast food chain Burger King is on the agenda due to the striking increase in its price.
In 2016, this menu, which was sold for 7.95 TL including a medium drink and fries, would drop to as low as 6 TL during promotional periods.
By 2025, the price of the same menu has risen to 265 TL. This 3233 percent increase is seriously affecting the purchasing power of consumers.
PURCHASING POWER OF MINIMUM WAGE HAS FALLEN
This increase in prices has also significantly reduced the number of menus that can be purchased with the minimum wage.
While 176 King Chicken menus could be purchased with the minimum wage of 1,404.06 TL in 2017, only 83 can be purchased with the 2025 minimum wage of 22,104.67 TL.
The data shows that the value of the minimum wage against the chicken burger has decreased by almost half.
