CHP's Karatepe announces 'we will eliminate it as soon as we come to power': Tax on interest

Yalçın Karatepe drew attention to the tax burden imposed on interest applied to credit cards and overdraft account loans.

Karatepe stated, "Under a CHP government, we will eliminate the taxes levied on interest paid on credit cards from day one. We will leave no one behind."

Karatepe emphasized that millions of citizens struggling to make ends meet are now trying to cover their daily expenses not with their salaries, but with credit cards and overdraft accounts.

"THE MOST UNCONSCIONABLE TAX"

Stating that these segments are faced with both high interest rates and additional taxes levied on that interest, he described the interest on credit cards and overdraft accounts as the 'most unconscionable tax'.

Karatepe stated that under a CHP government, the tax levied on interest paid on credit cards and overdraft account loans would be completely abolished, adding, "We are very determined on this issue.

We will eliminate the taxes levied on interest paid on credit cards from day one.

We will leave no one behind. People are at the center of our economic policies. Every individual living in this country will walk hand in hand, arm in arm, toward prosperity."
