Civil servants and retirees on hold: Wage negotiations to continue on Tuesday

No agreement has yet been reached in the 8th Term Public Collective Bargaining negotiations concerning civil servants and civil servant retirees. The Public Officials Arbitration Board is continuing its deliberations upon the application of the Public Employer Delegation. Following the lack of a result from the third meeting, it was announced that the fourth meeting will be held on Tuesday at 14:00.

The second meeting held on Sunday was chaired by Court of Accounts President Metin Yener. During this meeting, confederation representatives voiced their demands, while public employer representatives shared their views regarding these demands. The third meeting lasted 2.5 hours but did not reach a conclusion.

The Public Employer Delegation had proposed a 10 percent raise for the first six months of 2026 and 6 percent for the second six months, and a 4 percent raise for both six-month periods of 2027 on August 12. On August 15, in addition to these proposals, an increase of 1000 liras to the base salary was suggested. In the revision made on August 18, an 11 percent raise for the first six months of 2026 and a 7 percent raise for the second six months were proposed, but no changes were made to the offer for 2027.
