Complaints rise, ministry takes action: Bad news for businesses requesting payments via IBAN instead of card!

Recently, the number of businesses requesting payments via IBAN instead of credit or debit cards has been increasing.

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has pursued 'IBAN payment' transactions following incoming complaints.

According to the report on NTV; it was stated that taxpayers who avoid bank and POS device commissions through this method are rendering their earnings unregistered.

It was stated that tax inspectors have begun monitoring businesses that request transfers to IBAN instead of accepting card payments following the complaints.

It was reported that businesses are avoiding issuing receipts and invoices by using the IBAN transfer method.

While it was pointed out that the Ministry of Finance has accelerated its efforts within the scope of combating the informal economy, it was conveyed that the measures taken aim to prevent losses in VAT, income tax, and corporate tax.

Accordingly, it was noted that penalties will be imposed on bank account holders who continuously receive money from different individuals.

It was recorded that the Tax Inspection Board has accelerated its analysis of individuals whose earnings and expenditures do not align.
