Consecutive price hikes for eggs
Eggs have seen consecutive price hikes over the last two weeks. The rate of increase has reached 30 percent, with the price per egg hitting 8 TL.
In November, egg prices increased by 30 percent. The hikes implemented over the last 2 weeks have been reflected on market shelves.
The price of a carton of eggs, which was 200 lira before the hikes, has risen to 260 lira. Accordingly, the price of a single egg now ranges between 8 lira and 9 lira.
"IT IS SAID THAT MORE WILL FOLLOW"
According to a report on NTV, shopkeeper Mustafa Aksoy pointed out that there has been a second high-rate price hike for eggs, stating, "When we speak with producers, they say that more may follow."
