Cost of living hits Russian tourists too: They cannot leave their hotels due to high prices

The number of Russian tourists traveling to Turkey in the January-August period increased by 6% compared to last year, but according to the Russian press, it is observed that Russian tourists are leaving their hotels less frequently due to price increases in Turkey.

According to data released by the Russian Tourism Industry Union (RST), tourists are opting for "all-inclusive" and "ultra all-inclusive" systems and staying at their hotels due to rising restaurant and store prices.

According to information provided by Travelata.ru, the number of tourists in holiday villages has decreased this year. While the rate of tourists preferring the "all-inclusive" package was 68% in 2023, this rate was recorded as 67% this year. Vacationers prefer these packages offered by hotels to avoid spending money outside.

According to the report in Türkrus, vacation costs in Turkey have increased by 23% compared to last year, rising to an average of 226 thousand rubles. Furthermore, prices in restaurants have increased up to fivefold over the last two years. The main reason for this increase is cited as inflation and the rise in food prices.

Rising prices are particularly evident in basic food products such as meat, and tourists prefer to settle for the meal options offered by their hotels to avoid extra expenses throughout their vacation.
