According to research by the Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), the cost of living in Istanbul has risen to 75,717 TL.

According to the IPA's research, the cost of living in Istanbul increased by 59.4 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 75,717 TL.
The average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was calculated at 73,739 liras in October. Accordingly, the cost increased by 1,978 TL compared to the previous month.

The annual increase rate for red meat was 72.3 percent. The product with the highest cost increase was soap at 92.6 percent. Costs for products such as sunflower oil, chicken meat, and chickpeas also increased by more than 50 percent.

On the other hand, the cost of living for a family of 4 in Istanbul was calculated at 29,000 TL in January 2023 and 53,000 TL in January 2024.
