Countdown begins for vehicle owners: If you don't pay by tomorrow, a penalty is at your door!

As the deadline for the 2026 first installment payments of the Motor Vehicle Tax approaches rapidly, it is important for vehicle owners to fulfill their tax obligations on time. While payment transactions for the first MTV installment must be completed by Monday, February 2, missing the legal deadline will result in late interest and various punitive measures.

MTV payments can be made practically through digital channels as well as traditional methods. Vehicle owners can complete their transactions through tax offices and PTT branches, as well as through banks' physical branches and internet/mobile applications. Additionally, it is possible to make online payments by entering license plate and personal information into the Digital Tax Office system, which operates between 00:10 and 23:50.

If the tax is not paid on time, interest is applied at a set rate for each day of delay. Furthermore, vehicles with outstanding MTV debt cannot undergo mandatory inspections, and transactions such as sales or transfers are blocked. For this reason, all vehicle owners need to complete their first MTV installment transactions on time without leaving it until the last day.
