Crypto market heats up: Bitcoin crosses the $70,000 mark again
US President Donald Trump's optimistic statement regarding the end of conflicts in Iran has triggered a rally in the cryptocurrency market, with Bitcoin briefly climbing back above $70,000.
Following US President Donald Trump's statement that the war with Iran would be resolved "very soon," there has been notable activity in the cryptocurrency markets. While this statement was perceived as a factor of confidence in financial markets, the value of Bitcoin recorded a 2.32% increase at the start of Asian trading, reaching $70,581. It managed to rise back to this level after a four-day hiatus.
Following the rapid rise in Bitcoin, value increases were also observed in other high-market-cap cryptocurrencies. Ether, the second-largest digital currency closely followed by market participants, gained 1.3%. At the same time, XRP rose by 1.4% and Solana by 1.2%. However, none of these assets showed as strong a momentum as Bitcoin.
Investors are closely monitoring political developments and the reactions of financial markets. Richard Galvin, co-founder of the hedge fund DACM, commented, "Trump's latest posts are seen as an indication that the Iran conflict could end faster than the market expects. However, the risks lie in the market misreading Trump's statements or Israel, the US, or Iran taking steps to escalate the conflict, thereby eliminating the possibility of a resolution."
