Date announced for citizenship salary

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz responded to questions and criticisms directed at the 2026 Central Government Budget Law Proposal during the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

Yılmaz announced that the pilot process for the 'Income Complementary Family Support System', known in the public eye as the "citizenship salary," will begin next year.

Emphasizing that the model is one of the important projects included in the election manifesto, Yılmaz stated that detailed preparations have been underway on this matter for a long time.

Yılmaz noted that the new system is structured to integrate existing social assistance programs and said that the implementation is being updated according to the specific conditions of metropolitan areas and the needs of different segments of society, such as retirees.

WILL BE EXPANDED NATIONWIDE IN 2027

Cevdet Yılmaz said, "We will launch the pilot application of the Income Complementary Family Support System in a few provinces next year. We plan to expand it to the entire country in 2027. This new support model will be a comprehensive effort aimed at strengthening families."
