Date set for expected gasoline price cut

Volatility in global oil prices has brought expectations regarding fuel prices back to the agenda. While the claim that there would be a 5.65 TL reduction in the liter price of gasoline was closely followed by vehicle owners, the expectation that the discount would be reflected at the pump tonight was not confirmed.

Journalist Olcay Aydilek, known for his assessments regarding fuel prices, stated that the expected gasoline price cut will not be effective as of midnight tonight. Aydilek indicated that the reduction could come back to the agenda at the beginning of next week, pointing to Monday.

Gasoline pumps at a fuel station and city traffic are visible.
The beginning of next week is being pointed to for the expected reduction in gasoline prices.

If the expected 5.65 TL reduction takes place, the liter price of gasoline is expected to fall below the 80 TL threshold, which it has been hovering above for a long time.

It is stated that if the mentioned reduction is reflected at the pump, the liter price of gasoline could drop to 78.15 TL on the European side of Istanbul, 79.15 TL in Ankara, and 79.45 TL in İzmir.
