'Deceptive advertising' fines for legendary November sales

The Ministry of Trade announced that a total of 12 million 905 thousand 818 Turkish Lira in administrative fines were imposed due to practices contrary to regulations during the Advertising Board meeting, where complaints regarding legendary November sales were evaluated.

'Deceptive advertising' fines for legendary November sales

The Ministry of Trade shared the results of the 364th Advertising Board meeting, where consumer complaints regarding discount campaigns were addressed. It was reported that a total of 108 files were reviewed and concluded within the scope of applications submitted to the Ministry.

While it was stated that 93 of the evaluated files were found to be in violation of regulations, it was reported that administrative fines totaling 12 million 905 thousand 818 Turkish Lira were imposed regarding these files. Furthermore, it was announced that suspension decisions were issued for 57 files and access blocking decisions were issued for 16 files in order to prevent the misleading of consumers.

In the Ministry of Trade's statement, it was emphasized that inspections are being carried out with determination to protect the economic rights of consumers, prevent deceptive discount practices, and ensure a fair competitive environment in the markets. The statement expressed that the labor and hard-earned money of citizens will be protected, and all necessary administrative sanctions against deceptive advertisements and unfair commercial practices will continue to be applied without delay.
