Destek Yatırım Bankası General Manager Özgür Akayoğlu detained in fund investigation

A new operation was carried out this morning as part of the fund investigation conducted into Destek Yatırım Bankası and Özata Denizcilik. It was reported that 7 suspects, including high-level figures, were detained in the operation.

Among those detained was Destek Yatırım Bankası General Manager Özgür Akayoğlu. It was stated that Akayoğlu was one of the founding partners of the bank, which was established in 2021 with a capital of 300 million lira and three partners.

Previously, Altunç Kumova, the owner of Destek Holding, had also been detained as part of the investigation. Kumova, who was detained on September 17, was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace.

It was reported that in his statement to the prosecutor's office, Kumova said they noticed unusual activity regarding the funds and that he saw the abnormality in the company's value reaching 1 trillion 300 billion lira but did not know what to do.

It was noted that the investigation is being conducted regarding transactions on the Destek Yatırım Bankası and Özata Denizcilik line, and that the new detentions also took place within the scope of this file.
