Details on the requirement for chain stores to stock gluten-free products have been announced
The Communiqué on the Obligation to Sell Gluten-Free Food Products, prepared by the Ministry of Trade, has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, chain stores with more than 200 branches are required to stock gluten-free products under certain conditions.

STORES WITH MORE THAN 200 BRANCHES
Accordingly, chain stores in the food retail sector that sell fast-moving consumer goods and have more than 200 branches are now required to keep gluten-free flour, as well as sweet and savory snacks, available for sale in branches with a sales area of more than 250 square meters.
The stores in question will also be required to keep gluten-free bread, flour, pasta, and sweet and savory snacks available for sale in branches with a sales area of more than 400 square meters, in a manner that ensures continuity and in quantities sufficient to meet demand.
Some provisions of the regulation will enter into force on June 1, and others on September 1, 2024.
