Dollar starts the day with a record, euro continues to rise
The value of foreign currencies against the Turkish Lira continues to fluctuate daily. The volatility in the dollar and euro has not subsided following the Central Bank's decision to raise the policy rate to 30 percent.
Following the second round of the presidential election held on May 28, the volatility in foreign exchange rates continues despite the Central Bank's decision to raise interest rates 4 times.
On the other hand, eyes turned to the US and Turkey after a Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by a US F-16 near Hasakah in northwestern Syria, which also caused movement in exchange rates.
The Central Bank most recently raised the policy rate, which was 8.5 percent before the elections, to 30 percent by implementing a 500 basis point hike on September 21.
- The dollar exchange rate started the last day of the week at 27.76 TL.
The euro exchange rate is trading at 29.21 TL.
