Double fuel price hike: Diesel takes off, gasoline increase also coming
The rise in oil prices is driving up fuel costs. A hike of 7.67 TL is expected for diesel, while a 2.29 TL increase is projected for gasoline. Due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, only 57 kuruş of the gasoline increase will be reflected at the pump.
Following the rise in oil prices, new hikes are expected for gasoline and diesel prices. According to industry sources, a price increase of 7.67 lira per liter for diesel and 2.29 lira per liter for gasoline is anticipated. The new prices are planned to take effect starting tomorrow.
SLIDING SCALE EFFECT ON GASOLINE
The entire increase in gasoline prices will not be reflected at the pump. Due to the continued application of the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, only 57 kuruş of the 2.29 lira hike will be passed on to drivers.
CURRENT FUEL PRICES
Following the hikes, fuel prices in major cities are expected to rise to the following levels:
- In Istanbul, the price of gasoline per liter is expected to be 63.17 TL, and diesel 85.14 TL
- In Ankara, the price of gasoline per liter is expected to be 64.14 TL, and diesel 86.27 TL
- In Izmir, the price of gasoline per liter is expected to be 64.42 TL, and diesel 86.54 TL
- In eastern provinces, the price of gasoline per liter is expected to be 65.77 TL, and diesel 88 TL
