Economic Coordination Council meeting begins

The Economic Coordination Council (EKK) has convened with an important agenda under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace, was attended by ministers responsible for the economy, energy, industry, agriculture, and trade, as well as high-level bureaucrats. Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat were present, along with AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler and Deputy Chairman Nihat Zeybekci. The meeting was also attended by Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Fatih Karahan, Head of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget İbrahim Şenel, Head of the Investment Office Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, as well as several deputy ministers and representatives of relevant institutions.

One of the main agenda items was the strengthening of Turkey's logistics infrastructure and a review of the current status of railway-to-port connectivity. It was reported that participants discussed current issues in the sector and potential solutions. At the same time, the current utilization and future potential of the country's geothermal energy resources were comprehensively evaluated.

The agricultural sector also held a significant place in the meeting. The effects of agricultural subsidies on the sector and developments in the field of agriculture were discussed by the council members. Officials emphasized productivity growth and the sustainability of incentives for producers.
