Economic crisis deepens, Erdoğan did not increase the pocket money! It has lost its value...
While the economic crisis hits the Turkish Lira the hardest, the 200 TL note, which is the most valuable Turkish Lira, continues to melt away.
Facing inflation and a deepening economic crisis, our largest denomination, the 200 lira, which continues to lose value, is also the preferred amount for pocket money given by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
However, even though inflation has risen, the amount of pocket money Erdoğan gives to children has not changed.
HOW DID THE 200 LIRA MELT AWAY?
The 200 TL first entered circulation on January 1, 2009. At that time, one could buy 3 quarter gold coins or 63.5 liters of gasoline with 200 lira.
Today, while not even a single gram of gold can be bought, only 4.6 liters of gasoline can be purchased.
ERDOĞAN'S POCKET MONEY HAS NOT CHANGED
While Erdoğan continues to distribute '200 TL pocket money' to children during his visits, his recent act of giving 200 lira to a child became a topic of discussion.
Since the 200 TL entered circulation in 2009, it has lost over 1,170 percent of its value against inflation.
The 200 lira that entered circulation in 2009 is equivalent to approximately 2,550 TL today.
