“PER CAPITA NATIONAL INCOME HAS REACHED THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN TURKISH HISTORY”

Naki Bakır - Dünya: In 2023, GDP per capita was calculated at 307 thousand 952 TL at current prices, and 13 thousand 110 dollars in US dollars. Thus, per capita national income reached its highest level in Turkish history in 2023, the year when the population growth rate hit a historical low. The previous highest level in per capita income was reached in 2013 at 12 thousand 582 dollars. Per capita national income, which began to decline in the following period, fell below 10 thousand dollars in 2018 and hovered in this band for four years, rising to 10 thousand 659 dollars in 2022. In the 2024-2026 Medium-Term Program (OVP), the 2023 per capita national income realization estimate was projected at 12 thousand 415 dollars. Per capita national income, which was 695 dollars above the OVP estimate in 2023, also increased by 23 percent, or 2 thousand 451 dollars, compared to its 2022 level.
