Egg price hike in Kayseri
A significant increase in egg prices has been observed in Kayseri. While the price of jumbo eggs has decreased, the price of small-sized pullet eggs has risen by 55 kuruş.
In Kayseri, one of the country's leading egg production centers, there has been a significant change in egg prices; the price of small-sized pullet eggs has suddenly risen by 55 kuruş.
Last week in the wholesale market, the price of jumbo eggs fell from 3.60 TL to 3.35 TL, and the price of eggs from older hens dropped from 3.50 TL to 3.25 TL, while the price of pullet eggs increased by 55 kuruş to 1.65 TL.
Experts, evaluating the fact that while jumbo egg prices are falling in the wholesale market, a significant increase is observed in the price of small-sized pullet eggs and such contrasting price movements are occurring, stated that “production surplus, changes in consumption patterns, and export policies are influential.”
