President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a statement regarding the closely followed fund investigation, said that processes are being implemented to resolve the grievances of investors.
Meeting with deputies at his party's Congress Center, Erdoğan addressed economic topics on the agenda during the AK Party Central Executive Board meeting following the Legislative Year Opening Meeting. Stating that they are determined to protect the welfare of the public, Erdoğan said, "Our will to protect our nation's jobs and livelihoods is absolute. We are determined not to compromise on this, no matter the cost."
Touching upon developments in rent, education, and food prices, Erdoğan expressed, "We are pleased that the heat of inflation in rent, education, and food prices, which has been straining our nation, has begun to subside."
EMPHASIS ON SMALL INVESTORS
Stating that the economic administration is closely monitoring the issue that emerged in a segment of the fund market, Erdoğan noted that necessary steps are being taken to ensure financial markets emerge from this process stronger. "We are taking the steps needed for financial markets to emerge from this crisis stronger," Erdoğan said.
Expressing that problems in capital markets will be solved permanently, Erdoğan stated, "Turkish capital markets will shed their dead weight, be cleansed of parasites feeding on the savings of small investors, and our financial market will continue on its path."
Erdoğan stated that the process is being examined in all its aspects by the State Supervisory Council, declaring, "We will not turn a blind eye to the slightest negligence, illegality, or irregularity." Stating that the Fund Coordination Board, established under the chairmanship of the Vice President, will work intensively, Erdoğan conveyed that the board's priority agenda is the resolution of this issue.
Emphasizing that the process regarding investors' savings is being followed with sensitivity, Erdoğan said, "We are following the investor dimension of the matter. We are operating the processes to ensure the repayment of our citizens' savings without placing a burden on the public."
Stating that those responsible will be held accountable before the judiciary, Erdoğan said, "Those who violate the rights of the nation and those who gain unfair profits will answer for this both in this world before Turkish courts and in the hereafter before the Creator."
