Expectation of a gasoline price hike: A 55-kuruş increase may be reflected at the pump
Due to upward pressure on oil prices, a 2.19 TL increase is projected for gasoline; however, due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, only 55 kuruş may be reflected at the pump.
A new expectation for an increase in gasoline prices has emerged. The volatility in oil markets caused by tensions between the US and Iran, as well as uncertainties regarding the permanence of the ceasefire, has increased upward pressure on fuel prices.

According to industry sources, a price hike of 2 lira and 19 kuruş per liter of gasoline is projected. However, it is stated that due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, this increase will not be fully reflected at the pump, and consumers will face an increase of approximately 55 kuruş per liter.
Although it is stated that there have been no disruptions so far in the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, the uncertainty in the region continues to be a determining factor in the course of oil prices.
Following the expected increase, the price of a liter of gasoline is estimated to reach the following levels in some cities:
| City/Region | Estimated gasoline price per liter |
|---|---|
| Istanbul | 62.84 TL |
| Ankara | 63.78 TL |
| Izmir | 64.05 TL |
| Eastern provinces | Average 65.40 TL |
