While the volatility in oil prices and exchange rates continues to affect fuel prices, an expectation of a price cut for diesel has come to the agenda. Following the SCT increase implemented on October 1, a decrease in the liter price is expected this time.

Journalist Olcay Aydilek announced in a post on his social media account that a price cut of 2 Turkish liras and 22 kurus is expected for the liter price of diesel. If the expected reduction is reflected at the pump, the price boards for diesel will change in the three major cities.

CURRENT PRICES IN THE THREE MAJOR CITIES
Before the price cut, gasoline, diesel, and LPG prices in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir are as follows:
| City/Region | Gasoline | Diesel | LPG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul European | 80.50 TL | 97.10 TL | 41.20 TL |
| Istanbul Anatolian | 84.40 TL | 96.90 TL | 40.60 TL |
| Ankara | 85.50 TL | 98.20 TL | 41.29 TL |
| Izmir | 85.80 TL | 98.50 TL | 41.30 TL |

Fuel prices are determined based on the refinery exit price, tax items, distribution and dealer margins, and changes in the exchange rate. For this reason, movements in the oil market can be reflected in pump prices within a short time.

Diesel is closely monitored, especially in terms of commercial transport and daily transportation costs. Therefore, the expectation of a decrease in the liter price is followed by both vehicle owners and the markets.

Following the expected price cut, different levels may be seen in diesel prices depending on the provinces and stations. Final pump prices will be clarified with the boards updated by distribution companies and dealers.
