Expropriation decision for 4 TPAO fields in Siirt and Diyarbakır

An expropriation decision has been made regarding 4 fields of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in Siirt and Diyarbakır.

The decision regarding the expropriation by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was published in today's issue of the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, evaluating TPAO's application, MAPEG decided to expropriate 2 fields in the Kurtalan district of Siirt and one field each in the Hazro and Kocaköy districts of Diyarbakır, which are necessary for petroleum operations, are in the public interest to be expropriated, cannot be purchased through agreement due to demands for prices above market rates, and are subject to an urgent seizure order.

On the other hand, MAPEG decided to extend the validity period of the petroleum operating license for the 1361-hectare field in Tekirdağ, jointly owned by TPAO and Petrogas Petrol, Gaz ve Petrokimya Ürünleri İnş. San. ve Tic. AŞ, for a period of 10 years.

Additionally, MAPEG decided to grant a methane gas operating license to Hattat Enerji ve Maden Ticaret AŞ until February 7, 2045, for an area of approximately 820 hectares in Bartın, provided that the work and financial investment program submitted for the methane gas operating license area is fulfilled, taking into account the field's current reserve status and production program.
