Famous pizza company declares bankruptcy

While the global economic crisis has led to bankruptcies and closures across many sectors, US-based frozen pizza manufacturer Rustic Crust has also been affected by this situation.

The company closed its production facility in the town of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, and put it up for auction on May 22. During the court-supervised sale process, a bid of 1 million 375 thousand dollars was received for the facility. The winner of the auction has not yet been announced.

COMPANY EMPLOYEES LEFT UNEMPLOYED

The sudden closure of Rustic Crust has left the company's employees unemployed, as it was the third-largest employer in Pittsfield. The firm, which ceased production in August 2024, informed its employees that they were being laid off due to "economic and industrial forces beyond our control."

Operating for nearly 30 years, Rustic Crust was supplying pizza and pizza dough not only under its own brand but also to major retail chains such as Whole Foods, Market Basket, Hannaford, Stop & Shop, and Publix.
