Fed starts the week on a positive note

Global markets have started the new week on a positive note as they focus on the decision to be announced by the Federal Reserve (Fed) on Wednesday. 

Asia-Pacific markets are starting the week with gains following new measures by China regarding its stock markets.

While the Hong Kong Hang Seng index is rising, Japanese indices saw gains of over 1 percent, led by energy companies.

US STOCKS REMAIN FLAT

US stock futures had a flat start to the week ahead of the Fed interest rate decision to be announced on Wednesday. The dollar and bond yields are showing slight movements.

The Bloomberg Dollar Index is at 1,236 points. The US 10-year bond yield is at 4.132 percent, down by about one basis point. Spot gold is trading at 2,025 dollars, up 0.4 percent.
