A world first: Uber Balloon

The Cappadocia balloon ride, which is on the bucket list of must-do experiences in the world, will now be easily accessible with a single tap via the Uber app.

Global technology platform Uber is taking its users to the skies in Cappadocia by offering the opportunity to book balloon rides through the app. Uber is making the balloon ride, which takes place in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Göreme National Park and is considered a bucket-list experience globally, easily accessible with a single tap via the Uber app.

FROM HOTEL TO BALLOON RIDE WITH A SINGLE TAP

Balloon rides will begin in Göreme, Cappadocia, at sunrise, and Uber users will enjoy an unforgettable flight experience of approximately 1.5 hours over Göreme National Park, famous for its magical fairy chimneys and magnificent architecture carved into limestone. Upon takeoff, users will be able to view the unique landscape of Cappadocia from an altitude of approximately 900 meters.

Uber users will be able to book this unique journey through the app starting October 23. The Uber Balloon rides will include all hotel transfers and can be booked at a special fixed price per person.

BALLOON SERVICE A FIRST IN THE UBER WORLD

Stating that they are happy to achieve a first in the Uber world with the balloon service, Uber Turkey CEO Neyran Bahadırlı said: “Moving from our mission of being a platform that creates new possibilities for transportation in the world, we are proud to be a technology platform that truly makes it easier for people to go wherever they want by adding flying in the sky with a balloon in Cappadocia, one of the world's most iconic travel experiences, to our app. While a record number of tourists are expected to visit Cappadocia throughout October and November, all Uber users will be able to easily access the balloon experience with a single tap via Uber Balloon. In Turkey, where popularity is steadily increasing for Uber users, Uber trips made by tourists have increased by over 30 percent compared to the same period last year, and the Uber app has been used 26 million times to hail vehicles in Turkey since the beginning of this year. This year, over 38 thousand taxi drivers actively used the Uber app to make trips in a total of 9 cities where we operate, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Trips made via the app have increased by over 50 percent compared to the same period last year.”

Expressing that they are also happy and proud to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey with Uber Balloon, which Uber has launched for the first time in the world in Turkey, Neyran Bahadırlı added that they will gift 100 Uber balloon rides to their users in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

RESERVATIONS CAN BE MADE UP TO 12 HOURS IN ADVANCE

Free Uber Balloon rides are limited to 100, are subject to weather conditions, and are valid between October 23 and November 19. Users who wish to experience Uber Balloon must book their trips through the app.
