First term of training programs launched by Turkcell for earthquake survivors completed

Participants who completed Turkcell Academy's training programs as part of the 'Gönül Bağı' (Bond of Heart) projects, launched by Turkcell following the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, have received their certificates.

According to the statement from the company, while Turkcell continues its 'Gönül Bağı' projects initiated to support the reconstruction of the disaster region, the goals of providing training to 7,000 people and creating employment for 1,100 people through Turkcell Academy training programs are being realized in stages.

Those who completed the classroom training portion of Turkcell's 'Geleceği Yazanlar' (Writers of the Future) program for university students received their certificates in Hatay. The training for these university students will continue with internships, and successful candidates will be employed at Turkcell and its group companies.

Furthermore, the coding training program held in the Technological Training Classrooms established by the Informatics Industry Association (TÜBİSAD) with the contributions of Turkcell's cloud-based gaming platform brand GAME+ has also produced its graduates.

Middle and high school students who successfully completed a total of 112 hours of training over 7 weekends at the Jan and Suphi Beyluni Anatolian High School in the Samandağ district of Hatay and the Muhtar Ahmet Yiğitoğlu Secondary School in the Defne district received their certificates from Turkcell executives at a ceremony.

"We continue to bring qualified labor to the country"

In the statement, Turkcell General Manager Ali Taha Koç noted that they continue their efforts to enhance the professional and personal skills of people of all ages in the earthquake-affected regions and to support their technical development, explaining that they are making significant contributions to employment through these initiatives.

Koç emphasized that as Turkcell, they launched an 'Employment Mobilization' for citizens affected by the earthquake and their first-degree relatives studying outside the region. He recalled that they had shared plans to expand education and development programs in the earthquake zone with Turkcell Academy, aiming to employ 1,100 people and provide training to more than 7,000 people in the region.

Stating that the first of the Game+ coding training programs, conducted in cooperation with TÜBİSAD, has been completed, Koç said, "In addition to middle and high school students, we organized bootcamp programs to support the development of our university students and ensure their employment as part of the 'Geleceği Yazanlar' program. Our middle school, high school, and university student friends who successfully completed the programs received their certificates. We saw the energy in the eyes of our young people who are now navigating the labyrinths of the cyber world with confidence, starting to write code, and developing games. We stand by them precisely for this hope in their eyes."

Emphasizing that they will continue their work on issues such as increasing the professional skills and supporting the technical development of people in the earthquake regions, Koç stated the following:

"We continue to contribute significantly to employment by bringing qualified labor to the country through training in areas such as software, software testing expertise, robotic coding, cloud technologies, sales, and marketing. Those who complete their training in projects carried out by Turkcell will have the opportunity to find jobs at Turkcell, Paycell, Atmosware, Turkcell Global Bilgi, and Turkcell dealer sales channels."

Steps taken turned into kindness

Another kindness project came to life with the steps taken by over a thousand company employees through the 'Geleceğe Adım At' (Step into the Future) project. The 120 million steps taken were transformed into football, basketball, and volleyball courts for four village schools in the region.

The courts were built at Hatay Kırıkhan Çamsarı Primary and Secondary School, Hatay Arsuz Gözcüler Primary and Secondary School, Hatay İskenderun Bekbele Primary School, and Kahramanmaraş Dulkadiroğlu Güzelyurt Secondary School. With the 'Geleceğe Adım At' project, Turkcell is also carrying out work for book donations and the construction of libraries for village schools in the future.

A friendly match was played between the children and the 'Geleceğe Adım At' volunteers, consisting of Turkcell employees, and the Turkcell Sports Club Basketball Team players, and balls were distributed to the children.

Support through 'Gönül Bağı' projects

Additionally, the Hatay Call and Vocational Training Center will also be operational soon.

Small businesses and female entrepreneurs, which are the locomotive power of the region, are supported through Paycell, Financell, Pasaj, and İşTurkcell. Financell provides credit support for solar energy projects of commercial enterprises in the earthquake zone.

Efforts are being made to implement projects that will benefit local producers, SMEs, farmers, and local tradespeople step by step. New activities are being added to those started with a spirit of mobilization.
