Flash privatization move from IMM! Those companies will go public...
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is preparing to privatize İGDAŞ, Halk Ekmek, İspark, and Hamidiye Su.
The CHP, which won Istanbul once again in the March 31 Local Elections, also secured a majority in the IMM Assembly.
The IMM, under CHP administration, is preparing to take many of its municipal subsidiaries public.
IMM Head of Financial Services Neslihan Vural stated that the CHP's majority in the municipal assembly allows for progress on 'funding' plans, including the initial public offering (IPO) of İGDAŞ. The IPO plan for İGDAŞ was first brought to the agenda in the 2010s but could not be implemented.
Responding to questions from Bloomberg, Vural said that if there is a price hike in gas, the company's value could reach 10 billion dollars.
Stating that Halk Ekmek, which citizens prefer due to the economic crisis, is also next in line, Vural noted that they are also preparing for the privatization of İspark and Hamidiye Su.
