Flood of applications for interest-free marriage loan

Since January 13, 17,192 couples have applied to the Family and Youth Fund, which was established within the scope of the Year of the Family.

The first applications for the fund, known publicly as the interest-free marriage loan, began to be accepted as of February 15, 2024, from couples in provinces affected by the February 6, 2023, earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.

WHAT IS THE FAMILY AND YOUTH FUND?

Within the scope of the Family and Youth Fund, couples whose applications are approved and who are taking their first steps toward starting a family are provided with an interest-free loan support of 150 thousand liras, with a 48-month maturity and a 2-year grace period.

MOST APPLICATIONS FROM ISTANBUL

The highest number of applications for the fund, which was announced by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on January 13, came from Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, and Ankara, respectively.

WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FAMILY AND YOUTH FUND?

Couples wishing to apply to the fund must meet the following requirements: be between the ages of 18 and 29 as of the application date, not be a property owner or shareholder, have a total average income for the last 6 months and a total income for the last month not exceeding 2.3 times the minimum wage, and have at least 2 months and at most 6 months remaining until their official wedding date as of the application date.
