For Russians, Turkey is as expensive as the Maldives
A study conducted in Russia has revealed that the Maldives and Turkey are among the most expensive holiday destinations.
Natalia Anstal, a travel agency head and travel blogger, told the Russian news site NEWS.ru that the Maldives and Turkey are among the most expensive holiday destinations. Anstal noted that the final prices depend on the level of the hotel.
Most Russian tourists prefer five-star hotels with an all-inclusive system. The cost of staying in good hotels starts at 500 thousand rubles (approximately 188 thousand TL) and there is almost no upper limit. Some tours can cost two million to five million rubles (approximately 750 thousand TL - 1 million 877 thousand TL). This cost includes flights, and the price also depends on the level: it could be a charter, a regular flight with business class, or a small plane. Anstal explained that in the latter case, prices increase by about 1.5 times.
The expert stated that Turkey can be both a relatively affordable and one of the most expensive destinations. If one considers living in a villa at a first-class hotel with a private chef and concierge service, the cost of a vacation for a family can reach approximately ten million rubles (approximately 3 million 753 thousand TL).
