It has been alleged that former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mustafa Aksu is among the figures affected by the fund crisis that has recently come to the fore in capital markets. According to Barış Terkoğlu, Aksu was unable to exit the fund after moving his money from the stock market into a liquid fund.
Terkoğlu stated that he spoke with Aksu after hearing claims in AKP circles that Aksu had a large amount of money in the fund. According to the report, Aksu said he entered Tera's liquid fund on September 10 but was subsequently unable to withdraw his money.
It was reported that Aksu, who did not provide a precise figure regarding the amount of the loss, said, "I can say it is in the order of 100 million lira." It was stated that Aksu also expressed his discomfort with the situation in clear terms.
I am very uncomfortable, I am angry, I feel offended. The issue is not the 100 million, it is being deceived.
When asked about the source of the money, it was reported that Aksu responded by describing his family's industrialist background; he stated that his father had been an industrialist for many years, was among the "top 500" companies, and was a tax record-holder.
HE SERVED IN THE AKP FOR MANY YEARS
Mustafa Aksu held various positions within the party since the founding period of the AKP. Starting his political career in 2003, Aksu undertook roles such as AKP Ankara Provincial Deputy Chair, Head of Economic Affairs, and Chair of the Environment and Energy Commission as well as the Tradesmen Commission.
Aksu served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry between 2018 and 2021 during Bekir Pakdemirli's tenure as minister. It had been stated that he later left his post following disagreements with Pakdemirli, and that this departure had repercussions within the party.

Aksu, known for his closeness to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan since his youth, has brought both the debates in capital markets and the reflections in political circles back to the agenda with his remarks regarding the fund crisis.
