New sanctions imposed on Russia by US President Donald Trump have targeted major Russian oil companies such as Rosneft and Lukoil. Following these sanctions, Lukoil announced that it has decided to divest its assets outside of Russia. This decision by the company will particularly affect its operations in countries such as Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan.

IT HAS MORE THAN 600 STATIONS IN TURKEY

Entering the Turkish market in 2008 and acquiring Akpet for more than 500 million dollars, Lukoil currently operates more than 600 fuel stations across Turkey. In a press release published on the company's website, it stated, "Lukoil announces its intention to sell its international assets. The process of evaluating offers from potential buyers has begun."
