Fuel price hike deluge: Increases coming for gasoline, diesel, and LPG

A new increase in fuel prices is expected on Thursday, October 1. Due to the rise in oil prices, volatility in exchange rates, and changes in SCT (Special Consumption Tax) amounts, it is anticipated that pump prices will change once again.

According to expectations, there will be a hike of 12.47 TL per liter for gasoline, 3.60 TL for diesel, and 1.48 TL for LPG. Unless the economic administration takes additional steps, the projected increase in gasoline is expected to be strongly reflected in pump prices.

ALL EYES ON OCTOBER 1 FOR THE SLIDING SCALE SYSTEM

In order to limit sharp increases in fuel prices, the sliding scale system (eşel mobil) was implemented at different times throughout the year. While a gradual tariff was introduced for diesel in August to last until the end of the year, it is stated that the application for gasoline will end as of October 1, 2026.

For this reason, the prospect of a high-rate increase for gasoline on October 1 will directly affect drivers' fuel costs. The expected 1.48 TL hike for LPG will also increase the cost per kilometer for vehicle owners using autogas.

It is stated that after the expected hikes, the price of gasoline could exceed the 90 TL threshold.
